QUARRY POND WATERFALL, MANITOGA, 1983Manitoga was the Hudson valley home of American designer, Russell Wright, While working on a commission to photograph the Hudson river, I also received a New York State Council on the Arts, Architecture, Planning & Design Grant to photograph the property. Russell believed in designs derived from, and integrated with nature. This is the view from the sundeck of his house, overlooking an abandoned quarry pond, now made as a swimming pool with a descending waterfall, the result of some nearby stream "re-engineering."
